Andrew Kurnit, Executive Director at DWNTWN Realty Advisors, spearheads the firm’s capital advisory platform with a focus on securing debt financing and joint venture equity investments on behalf of the firm’s clients. Throughout his career, Andrew has been involved in more than $2 billion of commercial real estate transactions, spanning all property types throughout the United States.
A native of New Jersey, Andrew began his career in Manhattan with Nomura Securities, where he was the lead analyst of the loan-by-loan residential mortgage backed securities trading desk. He later joined Citi in 2007, where he provided financing to hedge funds, REITs and high net worth individuals to facilitate their acquisition of commercial real estate debt. With the ensuing demise of the financial markets, Andrew was entrusted with additional asset management responsibilities, proactively monitoring existing loans and mindfully safeguarding Citi’s basis. After returning to business school to pursue his MBA, Andrew joined UBS, where he worked on CMBS debt originations and served as a primary liaison to UBS’ robust wealth management platform.
After nearly a decade on Wall Street, Andrew relocated to Miami in 2017 and subsequently joined Trez Forman Capital, a commercial real estate debt fund, where he was charged with originating commercial mortgages on behalf of the firm.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a concentration in finance from the Roberto C. Goizueta School of Business at Emory University as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with concentrations in finance, management and real estate from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.
Andrew resides in Coconut Grove with his wife and two children.
